LifelineWide eyes peer up at me Curious as a cat They might well be, for I am a sight to be seenLifeline
My glory hid in my scars The ties that hold me together White ropes stand against my skin, Shivering, in the cold
Take then in. I will not easily be broken.

CliffhangerThe thunder of the falls Drives the pounding of my heart The whirlpool to me calls Nature's purest form of artCliffhanger
Peering o'er rocky edge White caps seem so far below I feel my feet slip off the ledge My fears pass'd long ago

Silent WitnessI stand inside and watch the rain Trickle down my windowpane The clouded sky for me is crying As my heart is slowly dyingSilent Witness
Save, save me from my pain Through from it there is nought to gain My mind submits to torture now And to another I must bow
My earthly self cries out for sleep But eternity my soul would keep So at my vigil I must stay For full price I can never pay

Those Who Stay -pp4-those who remain firmly root into earthThose Who Stay -pp4-
annelida curl between mandible and skull, flesh long since beast devoured
pale bones elegance grace the dark earth, smooth slivers smashed
those who go lay down tracks, hammers ring true and rail spikes sink deep
iron pierces empty shells of those who stay
the future forever charges onward
| hello the internet! this is the first time that i've put any of my works, IF you can call them that, out into the public eye! i will appreciate any constructive criticisms that you may be able to provide, so please, bring it! i'm still in school obviously, so i don't have an extreme amount of background knowledge to draw upon in the creation of my poetry. however, i'm learning new things everyday and i hope to rapidly improve with all of your thoughtful comments! i write mainly free verse poetry, and ONLY when i am hit with an intense burst of inspiration. this spark can come anytime, whether i am crying under the covers nursing a broken heart or rocking out while listening to heavy metal. i have even been thrown into a creative mood after recieving a B on a humanities assignment. so, anything could happen! words are free. use them |
